To vote in Wisconsin you must first register to vote. You can register in-person at the clerk's office, by mail or at the polling place on Election Day. You can also register online at My Vote WI. At My Vote you can register to vote, check your voter registration status, find your polling place, see what's on your ballot, request an absentee ballot and check provisional ballot status.
To be eligible to vote in the state of Wisconsin, a person must:
- Be a citizen of the United States of America.
- Be 18 years of age on or before Election Day.
- Have been a resident of the municipality where he/she intends to vote for a minimum of 10 days prior to Election Day.
Please keep in mind that there may be delays when registering at the polls on Election Day. All voters must submit proof of residence with their voter registration.
